The DECO` series of transparent stained-glass paints consists of 13 transparent colors and 3 opaque colors (white, silver, and gold), all of which can be mixed together. The glass to be decorated must be thoroughly cleaned and degreased with a small amount of rubbing alcohol or acetone. It is best to decorate the surface flat to prevent the paint from running. The drying process for DECO` paints is much slower than that of other glass paints available on the market. Drying time depends on the thickness of the applied layer and takes a minimum of 48 hours. In an oven at a temperature of approx. 60°C, the paint crystallizes slightly faster. To improve weather resistance, it is recommended to apply a layer of final varnish No. 200 to VERY WELL-dried paint (even after 1 month) once the work is complete. However, do not apply another coat of paint over dried DECO paint, as this causes the previously dried coating to lift. The lightfastness of the pigments used is very high, but it depends significantly on the paint concentration; therefore, paint in its original form is more durable than when diluted with an emulsion or thinner, and a thicker layer is more durable than a very thin one.
To clean the decorated surface, use a damp cloth and avoid liquids and detergents that may contain solvents. To create decorations imitating stained glass, we recommend using RELIEFY Renesans, which perfectly separate individual colors and create interesting, raised decorations that mimic pieces of stained glass.
