Bolus red traditional 125ml

Bolus, a clay-like substance in various shades ranging from gray to reddish-brown, is used as a paste for gilding with gold leaf. When mixed with glue water, it is called pulment and is used in the pulment method for attaching gold leaf. The mixture must be prepared by immersing it in hot water in the following proportions: 300 g of bolus, 1 liter of water, and 100 g of hide glue. While the mixture is still warm and has a slightly liquid consistency, apply it carefully using a brush with very soft bristles, such as sable. It is best to apply 3 layers, waiting until the previously applied layer is completely dry. Four colors are available: yellow, red, black, and white. Available in 125 ml jars.
