Properties of coverage
The opacity of pigment paint depends not only on the thickness of the applied layer but also on the type and content of the pigment, as well as the type of filler used in the paint. All colors were tested using the same methods: application on a black-and-white striped surface, which allows for a 4-level classification:
Opaque
Semi-opaque
Semi-transparent
Transparent
Lightfastness and weather resistance
This describes the paint’s durability in daylight. The quantity and intensity of influencing factors, such as solar radiation intensity, temperature, humidity, and the content of oxygen or other gases in the air, are also significant.

COVER TEMPERA-GUASSE - 42 high-quality Cover "body paint" tempera-gouache paints retain the best qualities of traditional gouache and tempera, while expanding the range and versatility of each color. The unique binder delivers more pigment with every brushstroke, offering exceptional intensity, strength, and a silky finish. The unique formula of Cover tempera-gouache highlights the luminosity and brilliance of high-quality dry art pigments even after the layer has dried. An important aspect of body tempera-gouache paints is their opacity, achieved through a higher pigment content, and their natural and unique matte finish is not further enhanced by the addition of white. Thanks to the deep, matte appearance of these paints and the intensity of each shade, they offer many complementary means of artistic expression: the transparent Intense Water watercolor series allows the paper to show through the applied layers, while Cover tempera-gouache paints create flat, deep, and uniform areas of color. They offer extensive possibilities for combining with Intense Water watercolors and watercolor pan paints, enabling a seamless blend of both color ranges. A layer of Cover tempera-gouache paint must be thicker and more flexible than that of watercolors, which is why we produce it using the best, modern resins and raw materials. Another important aspect of this type of paint is its good flow, which is why, despite its opacity, it can be applied as a thin, transparent, or semi-transparent layer. Thanks to their high pigment concentration, Cover tempera-gouache paints provide luminosity and depth in all shades. They can be mixed and combined with other products from the Gouache series and with Renesans’ Tempera One line, as well as lifted, reactivated, and reworked on many absorbent surfaces, such as paper, cardboard, or canvas. Cover tempera-gouache paints are available individually in 20 ml aluminum tubes, while Titanium White and Vine Black are also available in 60 ml tubes, as well as in 20 ml and 60 ml color sets.
